Make San Francisco better with a strong voice from the Westside.

San Francisco is my adopted hometown, and I’ll work to improve the lives of every San Franciscan. But my first priority is the Westside.

Recent legislation resulted in the Westside losing two of its seats on the Democratic County Central Committee. We in the 19th District are now left with only ten seats out of a total of 24. This means more voting power will be stacked on the City's east side.

Generally, I agree that reapportionment might be appropriate. After all, some areas of the City have more Democratic voters than others. But there are better ways to do it than depriving the Westside neighborhoods of representation across the board. That’s why one of my first priorities will be working for fair and rational apportionment on the DCCC.

That’s important. The DCCC is a crucial starting point for local civic efforts. Although the DCCC doesn't usually get the same level of attention as other offices, in San Francisco the DCCC is a powerful body. Its endorsements usually carry a decisive impact in this heavily Democratic town. Without a strong presence on the DCCC, the Westside will lose out on the ability to support candidates and programs that share our interests.

Whether it’s about keeping our neighborhoods safe, improving Muni service, or helping small businesses, the Westside needs an experienced and vocal advocate to advance those interests.

I’ll be that advocate. Elect me to the DCCC.
At your service.
